Hello Reader, Do you know the difference between posture and alignment? Posture can be seen from the outside. Alignment, however, encompasses the invisible forces created through relationship. What looks like good posture often isn't great alignment. When you think "sit up straight," you might be tempted to thrust your chest up and squeeze your shoulder blades together, but this can lead to a lot of tension and even joint dysfunction and pain. Not great alignment. In an ideal world, the base of your ribs align directly over the bowl of your pelvis, and your arms hang at the sides of your body, your shoulder blades resting on your ribs.
